Took a trip earlier this summer to Virginia on the east coast of the USA. Thought it’d be fun to share a few photos from a day we spent in Washington DC. Washington is the Capital city of the USA, named for the first president George Washington.

Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Nevada
Taken a little while but got around to editing more photos from the Ruby Valley. I’ll share some images of the wildlife we encountered at the National Wildlife Refuge. I’ll do my best to identify the birds (with help from the National Geographic’s Complete Birds of North America book & the Audubon App) but i’llContinue reading “Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Nevada”
Spanish Missions San Antonio, Texas
I thought i’d share a few photos from a recent trip to San Antonio. San Antonio is around 250 miles south of DFW. It was founded in the early 1700s as a Spanish Mission and Outpost. Whilst visiting you can definitely see the influence still of the Latin style architecture all around the city. SanContinue reading “Spanish Missions San Antonio, Texas”
El Reno, Oklahoma
This is probably one of the stranger places i’ve visited since moving to Texas. El Reno is a small town about 20 miles West of Oklahoma City. The only reason i’ve heard of it is due it suffering one of the most violent tornado’s in recorded history. In May 2013 a complex of thunderstorms developedContinue reading “El Reno, Oklahoma”
White Rock Lake , Texas (Winter Storm)
Having survived the worst of the big chill in Texas these last few days, we took a trip down to White Rock Lake to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air by the lake. Unsurprisingly given the recent conditions the lake looked rather different to usual with a sheet of ice stretchingContinue reading “White Rock Lake , Texas (Winter Storm)”
Caddo Lake State Park, Texas

Twin Falls & Boise, Idaho
We decided to take a brief trip away from Elko for a few days. Due to Northern Nevada being so remote our only real options were to either head west to Reno, East back into Utah or head north into Southern Idaho. We decided to head north and go into Idaho. The journey to BoiseContinue reading “Twin Falls & Boise, Idaho”

Bryan County, Oklahoma
Around 70 miles North of Dallas is The Red River and the Texas – Oklahoma border. With my family visiting town we thought it would be fun to travel north and venture into “The Sooner State”. On the way we visited Denison, TX. The hometown of General Dwight D Eisenhower before crossing Carpenter’s Bluff Bridge.
