Cedar Hill State Park

Took a trip recently South of Dallas to Cedar Hill State Park. It’s a cool outdoor area with a huge lake and a bunch of trails, there were 3 in total varying between 3, 8, 12 miles in distance. Depending on where you park you can also get a good view of some sites in DFW such as the Cowboys stadium in Arlington. It was nice to get out of the big city for a while and see some beautiful North Texas Landscapes especially in the 30 degree spring sunshine.

There’s a whole range eco diversity in the park, from lakes to forests to prairie, it has something for all nature lovers.
Underwater forest.
“Move to Texas, it will be fun”. Almost trad on this fella on the path, I believe it’s a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (but i may be wrong). It’s a highly venomous snake found in the south western USA and Mexico. It’s also highly aggressive and is prone to attack if it’s rattle doesn’t scare you off. Having read more about the species I will add to the existing list of things that terrify me in Texas. 1. Tornados 2.Western Diamondback Rattlesnake
Still getting to grips with nature photography
Joe Pool Lake in the background of the photo has some great fishing, All along the trails and in their boats people were out enjoying the Texas sun.
Cool looking tree on the bank of Joe Pool Lake.
Nice to get out of the Big City and enjoy some peace and quiet.
The trails in the forest are very tight and winding. There’s plenty of nature to enjoy though as you make your way through.

Howdy, my name’s Matt. I'm originally from England but now live here in the Great State of Texas. Since moving here I thought it would be fun to try something new and enter the world of photo blogging.
